What is so special about sgBEAT?
sgBEAT was created to make it easier for Singaporeans to start real-time conversations on the web and on their phones with other like-minded people. While similar to Twitter in look and function, we actually are quite different. Our community is Singapore-centric, allowing you to get more relevant updates and provide better cultural context.
We also have a lot more features in our service, designed with the Singaporean user in mind: local mobile updates through SMS and MMS, more user-friendly, fast updating (in real-time), interactive widgets for your blogs, fully customisable themes (coming soon!), etc.
Want to track latest trends and buzz in real-time in Singapore? Want to ask a fellow Singaporean for recommendations on the best makan place near Clementi? Want to find out when and where the best parties and shopping deals are? Then this is the place for you! back to top
Why should I use sgBEAT over Twitter, Plurk or Facebook?
We aren't encouraging you to stop using your existing Twitter, Plurk or Facebook accounts! On the contrary, we provide links from within our service to automatically update these services for you (Plurk and Facebook links coming up soon!).
You get to enjoy the benefits of our ease-of-use (via our web interface, SMS, MMS), while still keeping your friends on other services up to date at the same time. Meanwhile, you get to immerse yourself with others whom you can actually connect and meetup with later, knowing that you all actually share that 'uniquely Singaporean' link.

Are my personal particulars safe with sgBEAT?
Yes. We will not reveal your mobile number nor any of your personal particulars as otherwise shown in your public profile. To know more about how we handle your information, please read our Privacy Policy. back to top
